Histoiry
of fox terrier
Fox
Terrier, known for the XVI century, has undoubtedly resulted
from Fox hound, the Beagle and Bull Terrier. As of the XVIII
century end, the English aristocracy, impassioned "fox
hunting", does not agree any more to stop a hunt when
the fox succeeds in joining its burrow. Fox, high to this
end, follow the packs of current dogs and intervene by dislodging
the animal of its shelter. Fox Terrier with smooth hair is
undoubtedly more "old" that his cousin with wire
hair. This last however wone in 1920, its rough peeling protecting
it better from the bad weather and the ronciers.
In
England, with its aspect dandy and its haughty goatee, the
"wire hair" is regarded as the variety "fashionable"
or knack, whereas in Belgium and France, white Fox answering
in the name of Milou, known to be the faithful one and malicious
companion of Tintin, contributes largely to its popularity.
